Renowned Jazz Pianist Ruud Kuipers as Guest Soloist at Jazz in Royal

None other than the renowned jazz pianist Ruud Kuipers will be appearing as guest soloist this afternoon. He will be accompanied by the Rob Boxhoorn Quartet. Brazilian singer Sheila will also take the stage, adding to the atmosphere with a selection of Latin and bossa nova music.

Ruud Kuipers began his musical career with classical training on the accordion and later the piano. In the late 1970s, he made the transition to jazz and performed with various jazz combos. After many musical adventures — including a stint with Jan Molenaar’s well-known big band — he continued to develop his talent and improvisational skills through lessons with the acclaimed jazz pianist Karel Boehlee. Kuipers is renowned for his powerful and captivating improvisations.

At Jazz in Royal, Kuipers will be accompanied by an experienced rhythm section and a group of accomplished soloists. The quartet consists of Peter de Gelder (vibraphone), Marcel Peters (bass), Rob Boxhoorn (guitar) and Dick Verbeek (drums).

The performance will take place on Sunday, 18 October, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Hotel Royal, Voorstraat 76, Noordwijk (telephone: +31 71 364 6512).

Both admission and parking are free. As a large turnout is expected, visitors are advised to arrive early.
