Spring in Noordwijk represents an explosion of colours and fragrances with the endless flowering bulb fields. Flowers stimulate our senses, they surprise and amaze us and make us feel happy. What blooms where and when?

Of course you want to know where to admire the most beautiful flowering fields. The Flower Map is a handy online map with which you can effortlessly find the fields in the entire Dune and Flowerbulb Region. Recognisable icons help you find the locations and photos show what the fields look like at that moment.

So you can plan a nice cycling or walking tour or choose one of the many routes and set off. Of course, you can also rent a bike.

When you find yourself standing beside a brilliantly coloured flower field, it can be all too tempting to charge in amongst the flowers. Resist the urge! The flowers and bulbs are fragile, and if you have any plant diseases on your shoes you risk taking them in with you. This would be a pity for nature, but also a major loss for the growers. So enjoy the view, but please show respect for the flowers and grower: do not enter the fields without the grower’s express consent. Naturally, you can take as many photos as you like from beside the field. #respecttheflowers

  • Tulip Experience, Noordwijkerhout - an experience that you really must see if you want to find out all there is to know about Dutch tulips.
     
  • The Flower Event, in the Witte Kerk, Noordwijkerhout - a colourful flower show with a display of all the Duin & Bollen region’s spring flowers.
     
  • De Tulperij, Voorhout - book an excursion, hear the story of the tulip’s growth, bloom and boom and visit the fields with a bulb farmer as your guide.
     
  • De Keukenhof, Lisse - the world’s most beautiful park celebrating spring, with 32 hectares of flowers.
     
  • Tulip Store- here you can order exclusive tulips as well as daffodils, hyacinths and other flower bulbs.
     
  • E-chopper rental: Rent a 100% electric E-chopper (E-scooter) and explore Noordwijk, the dunes and beautiful flowerregion.

Giant Tulip Bulbs Route

The Netherlands is famous for its tulips and the Bollenstreek for its bulb fields and the Flower Parade. The tulip has been a source of inspiration for artists worldwide. The Gildemeesters Bollenstreek Foundation started the art project 'GIANT TULIP BULBS' in 2018. 80 man-sized works of art in the shape of a tulip bulb are painted by various artists from the Bollenstreek, each with their own story and can be admired throughout the region between Leiden and Haarlem. Flowers all year round

In Noordwijk, flowers can be admired not only in spring, but in every season. In more and more places you can enjoy the dahlia in many colours and shapes in summer and autumn, between mid-August and mid-October.

Admire the colourful splendour of more than 600 varieties of Dahlias at the Tulperij - an authentic flower nursery. Pick your own bouquet to enjoy at home for a long time to come. 


Did you know that in the garden of Keukenhof Castle, as many as 100 varieties of Dahlias are in full bloom? Dahlias provide an overwhelming display of colours until mid-October. Enjoy a nice walk around the historic estate and this beautiful flower.
