The Noordwijkerhout Family Tour is a varied 23-kilometre cycling route through Noordwijkerhout and its surroundings. It is a wonderful family-friendly route for anyone who wants to discover the area’s best spots at a relaxed pace.

The route starts in the welcoming centre of Noordwijkerhout, close to the historic White Church. From here, you cycle to the leafy Nieuw Leeuwenhorst Estate, with its majestic trees, ponds and plenty of space to explore nature together. Be sure to stop at the adventurous climbing forest, where children can balance on tree trunks, swing from vines and find their way through the maze.

There is plenty to experience along the way. Take a short detour and walk the Kabouterpad, or Gnome Trail, to search for little gnomes hidden in the woods. Feeling hungry already? It might be time for a pancake at Pannenkoekenboerderij Langs Berg en Dal.

Climb to the Tespelduyn viewpoint and enjoy sweeping views across the flower fields, the Keukenhof Estate and Hollandse Duinen National Park.

The Oosterduinse Meer, known locally as the Comomeer, is a wonderful place to stop for lunch. Behind De Volière restaurant, you will find a fun playground. Combine lunch with a swim in the lake, a delicious meal on the terrace and some playtime or football on the adjoining grass field. The children can burn off some energy while the adults relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The route then takes you through the green countryside and back to the centre of Noordwijkerhout. No successful family day out is complete without an ice cream, so it is time to visit Likkie! You could also pick up a lovely present for the young cyclists at Kiwikids. It is the perfect way to end your family adventure on a festive note.

The route follows the Dutch cycle junction network and takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes without long breaks. When cycling with children, it is much more fun to allow plenty of time for the different stops and detours. Bring enough water, a healthy snack, swimwear and perhaps a change of dry clothes, and enjoy a wonderful family cycling day together!
