Janieck Devy

Lost Frequencies feat Janieck Devy – Reality
Songtekst

Decisions as I go to anywhere I flow
Sometimes I believe, at times I'm rational
I can fly high, I can go low
Today I got a million, tomorrow I don't know
Decisions as I go to anywhere I flow
Sometimes I believe, at times I'm rational
I can fly high, I can go low
Today I got a million, tomorrow I don't know

Stop claiming what you own, don't think about the show
We're all playing the same game, waiting on our loan
We're unknown and known, special and a clone
Hate will make you cautious, love will make you glow

Make me feel the warmth, make me feel the cold
It's written in our stories, it's written on the walls
This is our call, we rise and we fall
Dancing in the moonlight, don't we have it all?

Decisions as I go to anywhere I flow
Sometimes I believe, at times I'm rational
I can fly high, I can go low
Today I got a million, tomorrow I don't know
Make me feel the warmth, make me feel the cold
It's written in our stories, it's written on the walls
This is our call, we rise and we fall
Dancing in the moonlight, don't we have it all?

Better known today as Janieck Devy or simply Janieck, he was born Janieck van de Polder. As a nine-year old, he made his acting debut in the title role in the popular Dutch children’s film Pluk van de Petteflet. It seemed to mark the start of an acting career for Janieck. As he grew older, however, he discovered a stronger passion for making music. “I wrote songs the way that girls keep a diary. Through my songs, I processed all of my insecurities and infatuations.” These days, Janieck is a successful singer-songwriter. He had a breakthrough in summer 2015 with the song ‘Reality’, which he recorded with Lost Frequencies, a Belgian DJ; the song was a number 1 hit in the European charts for weeks. Later on, he also created more modest hit songs like ‘Feel the Love’ and ‘Does It Matter’. Janieck recently co-wrote the lyrics for the Irish submission in the 2019 Eurovision Song Festival. “Writing something for Eurovision has always been a dream of mine.”

Music is one of the most powerful art forms to evoke emotions. It activates our entire brain. It motivates us, relaxes us, makes us happy or sad. And that means it makes a connection every time. “A piece of music is therefore completely in tune with the theme in Noordwijk this year. And the fact that it is my music that has now been immortalised on a panel on the boulevard, between all these great names... Yes, I am really proud of that.”

However, it is not outside the realm of possibility that this versatile multi-talent will be seen on the big screen again eventually. “I am currently focused on music, because it’s hard to pursue both careers fully.”
